I love the burning thrill of exhilaration that overtakes me, every time I set off on a new adventure. Embarkation.
As I sail away, leaving the familiar behind me, I feel chains breaking, stress evaporating, obligations shattering…
I am FREE…
Then, I arrive somewhere breathtaking… mind bending… soul stimulating…
It was cold outside, but the sun’s hot rays burned through the icy air, warming our skin.
People swarmed around the giant, silver bean like it contained holy power. It was Chicago’s wailing wall.
They touched it, photographed it and gazed at it. They rubbed it like it housed the fertility Goddess herself.

Then, there was this.

And this…

And this…

You never know what you’ll stumble across when you step outside your natural bounds… and therein lies all the fun of embarkation.
“It’s a dangerous business, Frodo, going out your door. You step onto the road, and if you don’t keep your feet, there’s no knowing where you might be swept off to.”
-J.R.R. Tolkien, The Lord of the Rings
I was so happy that this barely phased me:

That’s $24 for an hour of parking, by the way. I just hope they use it to buy another sculpture.
No matter.
Worth it.
